This is the template for making an envelope.
Materials needed
- The card that will be going into the envelope.
- Template of envelope
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Rule
- Pencil
Method used.
- Near a corner edge of the paper draw a 2.5 cm [1 inch] line down -along side the paper
- Now draw a 2.5 cm [1 inch] line down the other corner edge of the paper
- There are now two intersecting lines.
- Place your card near the inside corner edge of the intersecting lines.
- 0.5 cm away from these lines as this will allow room to slip the card in and out of the envelope.
- Draw a third and fourth line at 0.5 cm away from the card.
- Measure the area from the draw line at the top of the card to the bottom of the card line.
- Draw another square shape the same size attached to the card sized box. This is the back flap of the envelope.
- One more thing to measure and that is the other side flap.
- Cut out the outline - not the fold lines though.
- Fold all the fold lines.
- The side Flaps get glued.
- The back side is pressed onto the glued side flaps.
- Leave to dry before you place the card in your envelope.
- Fold over the top flap.
- Glue if necessary - or simply tuck the flap into the back of your envelope.
