Splatter painting

Equipment

  • Old tooth brushes
  • Water paint
  • Small sheets of paper 25 cm by 20 cm [10" by 8"]
  • Plastic covered table
  • Apron for protection of clothing
  • Variety of objects to use a stencils [leaves, hands, cardboard shapes]
Directions
  1. Place object to be used as a stencil on the paper.
  2. Dip the tooth brush into paint.
    1. Shake to remove excess paint.
  3. Splatter paint over the paper
    1. rub finger or thumb over the bristles.
    2. The less paint on the brush the finger the splatter is.
  4. Remove the stencil.
    1. The outline can be seen.
    2. The stencils do not have to all be removed at once.
  5. Repeat until all colours wanted have been used.
    1. The more times the objects are removed the different layering effects are achieved.
