making own basic paint


Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp starch or cornflour
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Disinfectant
  • Powdered dyes
Directions

  1. Mix starch or cornflour to a smooth paste with the cold water.
  2. While stirring, add the boiling water until the mixture thickens.
  3. Leave to cool.
    1. The mixture will thicken more but it should still pour easily.
  4. Add a few drops of disinfectant.
  5. Add a fraction of powdered dye to give a bright color.
  6. Pour the body of the paint into an air tight container.
  7. A small amount goes into a using container or squeeze bottle.
  8. paint will last in the fridge for up to one week.
